Kihei Boat Landing / Kihei, Maui Hawaii / 2020

In January of 2017, I vacationed in Maui for the first time. I planned to look for found objects while I was there to add to another 3-D assemblage painting. I hit pay dirt when I went for a walk at the Kihei Boat Landing. I certainly did not expect to find a pair of snorkel fins thrown out near the dumpster. All of the other objects were found along the perimeter of the boat ramp and the adjoining parking lot. Is there any wonder how objects like these could entangle marine wildlife? The Kihei boat ramp is actually a wide slab of concrete with fluted ridges quite different from the surface I created. I was influence by a ramp elsewhere.
