After the Parade

Madeira Avenue / Minneapolis / MN / 2014

On a very hot August day, after confetti blasters let loose at a lively LBLco 1970’s Promotion Parade, I saw a blacktop parking lot take on a new look. I could not keep my eyes off of the colorful confetti spread out over the black surface and its white stripes. The hot pink surveyor’s markers and the pink plastic tape were scattered near a suburban construction site elsewhere. I brought those elements together for this happy painting.
